Notify Me! Button (Top Right of PRA Athletics Web page)

If you have a Middle School Student Athlete and want to be able to get notifications of game & practice changes, sign up through the "Notify Me!" button. Here you can choose all the sports that you wish to receive notifications from. You will use the same email/log in that you used when creating your rschools account. Once you have this set up, you also will have the option to download an app (called Activity Scheduler ) to your phone. This is utilized throughout Middle and High School Athletics.

MS Golf- Thorncreek will be our home course on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
(Address: 13555 Washington St, Thornton, CO 80241).

We are looking to do a tournament or two through Gold Crown, “Back to School, Middle School Golf Series,” Please feel free to look through the registration HERE (https://www.goldcrownfoundation.com/events/fall-middle-school-golf-series/)

Please make sure to have a black golf polo for tournaments. We do have some black Polos for purchase for $25 as well $25 PRA Ball caps. Please let Coach Caswell know if interested.

Expectations

Middle School Athletic Expectations (All Sports)

Dress to Impress Mentality:

Home games/Contests/Meets = dress up! Slack with button up shirt with collar. Extra additions might be a tie or sport jacket. Appropriate length Skirt or dress with a collar, pencil skirt, dress slacks, button up shirt with collar.
Away Games= Jersey, Team shirts and dress code Pants.
*If a home game falls on a Saturday, Students will still be expected to dress up that Friday.

Leadership:

PRA way 100% of the time & follow MS School Policies
Add value and leadership within the classroom
Be a positive role model for those around you and on your team
Always be uplifting
Be trustworthy, have Integrity & selflessness and show perseverance
Take accountability when not following the above.

Eligibility:

Be accountable for your missed work if you leave early for a game.
Use study hall to complete work and get ahead
Eligibility is a CHSAA policy
If you have 2 or more Failing grades you cannot participate from Tuesday to Tuesday.
The eligibility report is run at Tuesday 10am.

Interested in Playing a College Sport?

If you're interested in playing a college sport, at the 8th grade level is the perfect time to start having those discussions with your parents and discussing what division you'd like to play for? There is a lot of research that you can do to find out exactly what is needed and when if you're looking to be a collegiate athlete.

One common myth is that you need to go to a big school to be recognized. There are many things that college recruiters look at. Listed below are a few of the things they are looking for:
-Leadership/Interviews with teachers/Coaches. An athlete that can help build a sustainable winning culture. A student athlete that can be a great classmate.
-Character Development. More and more they aren't just looking for someone who can put up points, but someone who's a good person and well rounded.
-Multi Sport athlete- building of alternative skill sets, often more athletic avoids injury and burn out.
